Caixa will issue 8 million debit cards for social programs
The card will allow beneficiaries to make purchases, pay bills and transfer money via WhatsApp. According to the Minister of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger, Wellington Dias, who participated in the ceremony, the measure will help promote the banking inclusion of the most vulnerable population and will reduce queues at branches.
“The beneficiaries who are joining the program this year are already receiving this new card with all the facilities”, said Dias.
Culture
Rita Serrano also announced the resumption of investments in culture, with the opening of a BRL 30 million public notice for projects that will integrate the programming of the Caixa Cultural centers in 2023 and 2024. According to the president of the institution, sponsorship of culture will be one of the main marks of its management.
“We returned to invest in projects, revitalizing the cultural sector, generating jobs and income with a plural program, valuing our tradition and history. Promoting access to culture is an action to preserve the identity of Brazilians and we are rescuing this value that is so important for the country”, highlighted Serrano.
Also present at the 100-day ceremony, the Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezes, welcomed the measure and said that Caixa has a long history of supporting the big names in Brazilian culture. “Culture is a phenomenon of transformation, social emancipation and social development for our people”, she declared.
