Gross Domestic Product grows 2.5% in February
The Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is the sum of all goods and services produced in the country, grew 2.5% in February this year, compared to January. The data is from the GDP Monitor, released this Wednesday (3) by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).

Compared to February last year, growth reached 2.7%. According to the research coordinator, Juliana Trece, the economic growth in February was mainly due to agricultural activity. Industry and services also grew, albeit more moderately.

Comparing the quarter ended in February of this year with the quarter ended in February 2021, there was an increase of 2.7%, due to increases in household consumption (4.4%), in gross fixed capital formation, that is, investments (2.4%), in the export of goods and services (0.2%) and in imports (1.6%).
