Finep and ministry sign contracts in the area of aerospace technology
One of the contracts, signed with Visiona Tecnologia Espacial SA in the amount of R$ 219 million, represents the highest amount in economic subsidy granted by Finep in its entire history. The second largest, of R$ 120 million, was signed with the company Embraer. The contracts were signed by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Luciana Santos.
“The resources we announce are destined to the development of structuring and strategic projects, which will lead to the conquest of technological autonomy in Brazil in sectors that operate at the tip of the pyramid of added value”, said Luciana.
According to the minister, the projects will develop technologies for the aviation of the future, which involve topics such as electrification and automation, and a high-definition optical satellite, which can be used for monitoring and surveillance of forests, rivers and seas, protection of indigenous lands, defense and public safety.
“Investments in the aerospace industry have repercussions beyond the sector, such as education and the training of specialized labor. By creating demand for specialized professionals, incentives for the aerospace industry encourage universities and research centers to produce knowledge. In addition, they create opportunities for new startups and small and medium-sized technology companies, generating high-quality employment and reducing brain drain”, he pointed out.
