Government launches reporting channel on fuel prices
The initiative is yet another unfolding of actions to try to enforce Petrobras’ decision, which Reduced fuel prices this week sold to distributors. The reduction was R$ 0.44 per liter in the average price of diesel, which dropped from R$ 3.46 to R$ 3.02, and R$ 0.40 per liter of gasoline, from R$ 3. 18 for BRL 2.78.
Despite this, consumers from different parts of the country complained that the reductions in values were not passed on and, in some cases, the price even went up and then returned to the previous level, as a way of defrauding a reduction.
In order to verify that the filling stations are adequately transferring price variations to the final consumer and that they are complying with the rules and regulations in force, Senacon will coordinate, next Wednesday (24), the Fair Price Mutirãothroughout Brazil.
With the support of the Procons, the monitoring of fuel pricing in Brazilian cities will be carried out, sending the highest and lowest values found in establishments to Senacon. The report with the data will be presented to the public on May 30.
Course
In another initiative, the government has applications open until the 29th of May for the course Knowing the Fuel Market. The training aims to present the functioning of the fuel market, making it possible to learn about the characteristics of the products sold and how the public authorities act to regulate this activity through the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
According to the government, the course has a workload of 20 hours and was developed primarily for consumers, public agents of bodies linked to the protection of consumer protection and market agents.
