In 2023, Brazil has already received 75% of foreign tourists from all of 2022
Embratur said that the revenue generated by foreign visits in the first four months, according to data from the Central Bank, was R$ 10.8 billion, the highest in the last four years. In the same period last year, spending by foreigners in Brazil had been R$ 8.15 billion.
“The significant increase in foreign tourists in the country is also directly related to the return of Argentineans to Brazil. The estimate, according to World Travel and Tourism Council Annual Economic Impact Report (WTTC), released this month, is that, in 2023, the sector’s contribution to Brazil’s GDP will exceed pre-pandemic levels (2019) by 5%. There will be US$ 145.7 billion in the national economy, reaching 7.8% of the country’s GDP, and almost 8 million jobs will be created.
