Rio Grande do Sul: ABC+ Plan financing reaches R$ 831 million in the 2022/2023 harvest

In Rio Grande do Sul, rural producers financed around BRL 831 million, in 5,284 contracts, for the application of technologies from the Low Carbon Agriculture Plan (ABC+). According to data from the 2022/2023 Crop Plan, R$ 269 million were contracted through Pronaf ABC+, R$ 202 million through the Proirriga Program and R$ 360 million through the ABC+ Program.

Economist Francisco Rodrigues states that the ABC+ plan came to add to public policies in Rio Grande do Sul.

“One of the main pillars of the Brazilian economy is agriculture, which constantly boosts our gross domestic product. The gross domestic product of Rio Grande do Sul is among the ten largest in the country. In the third quarter of 2022 alone, it grew by 1.3%, while the GDP of agriculture in Rio Grande do Sul, if we compare 2022 with 2021, there was a growth of more than 41.8%. Look how relevant this is for our country”, said the economist.

Among the technologies financed are: integration systems for 21 thousand hectares (R$ 129 million); the no-tillage system for 17 thousand hectares (R$ 92 million); planted forests for 14 thousand hectares (R$ 57 million); irrigated systems for 13 thousand hectares (R$ 202 million); and soil management for 12 thousand hectares (R$ 52 million).
