Soy in grain and fresh chicken meat are responsible for the export record in Paraná

Once again, the state of Paraná broke the export record in the first half of the year, with a turnover of US$ 12.1 billion (R$ 59 billion at current prices). The positive result is the result of the sale of soybeans and fresh chicken meat, which together accounted for 38% of Paraná’s foreign trade, totaling US$ 4.6 billion in sales.

Approximately, US$ 4.1 billion were transacted in the period by the soy complex, which includes grain, bran and oil. Another export highlight of the state is cereals, which grew by 90.6% compared to the first half of 2022, rising from US$ 270 million to US$ 515 million.

For economist Alexandre Arci, these results are extremely positive for the state’s economy and growth.

“This creates an extremely favorable scenario for Paraná’s trade balance, which remains high, favoring the state’s entire financial health. The big challenge is always to have a control over expenses since they continue to grow strongly”, he highlighted.

In addition to these products, agriculture and livestock and car sales increased from US$ 96 million to US$ 189 million and US$ 236 million, respectively.

In total, exports from Paraná are present in more than 200 countries or autonomous territories. China leads the way, followed by Argentina, the United States, Mexico, the Netherlands, among others.
