Caixa Econômica Federal customers were given an incentive to renegotiate debts through the Desenroll Brazil Program. The bank will open all branches one hour earlier this Friday (21) to promote a renegotiation task force.

According to Caixa, 225 thousand people with debts of up to R$ 100 had their names cleared in the first days of Desenrola, a debt renegotiation of the federal government. In addition to special service at branches, Caixa will send an agency truck to the city of Santos (SP), to reinforce mobilization.

Caixa’s president, Maria Rita Serrano, will visit branches in the Federal District and several directors will do the same in other states. According to the bank, the joint effort will help serve the population in a more targeted way. In two days of service, the bank recorded double the normal demand for renegotiation in its channels.

In addition to special service at the branches, Caixa’s branch truck will be in the city of Santos, in São Paulo, as another way of serving the population. It is worth remembering that the bank makes it possible to settle debts in cash with discounts of 40% to 90%, depending on the customer’s contract, in addition to installments in 12 to 96 months.

In addition to Desenrola Brasil, which came into effect on Monday (17), Caixa promotes Tudo em Dia Caixa, its own debt renegotiation campaign. The bank will give a discount of 40% to 90% for individuals and legal entities in debt with the institution. The smaller the number of installments, the greater the discount.

First phase

On Monday (17), the first phase of Desenrola began, which allows the negotiation of bank debts. In this step, two parallel actions take place. People with debts of up to R$ 100 overdue by December 31 of last year have a clean name. The debt is not forgiven, but the customer will be removed from the negative register.

The second action benefits individuals who earn up to R$ 20,000 and have bank debts with no limit on the amount. For this category, banks are offering direct renegotiation with customers in exchange for anticipation of tax credits (anticipation of tax discounts). The government offered BRL 50 billion in advance credits in proportion to the discounts granted. Each R$ 1 discount on the debt entitles the financial institution to R$ 1 in tax credit.
