The agricultural sector is among those that suffer most from the rains in RS
Livestock (R$ 134.7 million), industry (R$ 92 million), local businesses (R$ 37.5 million) and other services (R$ 52.2 million) are also on the list of sectors with large losses in production.
The secretary of regional development of Rio Grande do Sul, Beto Fantinel, says that he is intensifying work so that municipalities seek to receive the resources in the shortest possible time.
“We are discussing with the Ministry of Social Development Ordinance 90, which is an agile and quick activation mechanism, which transfers 20 thousand reais to every 50 people who need shelter. So, the municipalities fill out a document, we made a complete simplification, a formal model so that we can do it quickly”, he explains.
With the calamity decree, the secretary reminds that municipalities can seek to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. “These municipalities just need to forward the documents and they will start receiving shelter assistance”, he reinforces.
Damaged municipalities
According to the CNM, the numbers are frightening. In total, 388 municipalities are affected, according to the State Civil Defense. Of these, 336 were recognized by the state and federal governments in a State of Public Calamity, by summary rite, of which 159 registered the decrees in S2iD.
It is important to highlight that most of the municipalities that registered their abnormality decrees in S2iD, from MIDR, began to inform the values of damages and losses, since in some locations water levels have already started to drop.
In the latest update from the state Civil Defense, 90 deaths have already been recorded; 470 missing; 48 thousand homeless; 283.7 thousand homeless; 361 injured and 1.4 million Gauchos affected. Cruzeiro do Sul, Bento Gonçalves, Santa Maria and Lajeados have recorded the highest number of confirmed deaths.
