To make payment via Pix by contactless, you will not need to access the bank app on your cell phone. This is because payment will be allowed via digital wallet — so-called wallets. To be able to make the transaction, the user must choose the bank and register the account in the digital wallet. Regarding care, the specialist warns.

“The consumer always needs to check the recipient’s details and the value of the purchase. These are the same precautions that he currently needs to take when making payments via QR code, for example. As this is a new modality, it is possible that they are not used to it and always need to check the details before making the payment.”

Another new feature that has already come into effect this week is Pix Scheduled for all financial institutions. The modality has existed since 2021, but was not mandatory, which changed since last Monday (28), as required by the Central Bank.

Pix Scheduled Recurrent works in a practical way for recurring payments, such as rent, daily wages, children’s allowance or donations, explains Thiago Amaral. The lawyer details how it works.

“These are payments scheduled by paying users. They are the ones who determine the payment date, so the same payments must be made each month, it is not possible to change the dates. And they also need to be made for the same amounts, for example, R$100 each month. You cannot change either the date or the values”, he explains.

Pix by appointment is valid for both transfers between individuals and legal entities, so self-employed professionals or companies will also be able to benefit from the practicality of the system and receive the amounts on a scheduled basis.
