In a new historical record, the dollar closed this Thursday (28) reaching R$5.98.
The new maximum was driven by the reaction to the tax measures announced by the federal government on the 27th, which include exemption from income tax for people earning up to R$5,000.
The government’s fiscal package was not well received by the market, given uncertainties about the IR exemption.
The increase in the currency was 1.30%.
In fact, in the early afternoon, the currency reached its highest price ever and, for the first time since the implementation of the Plano Real, in 1994, it was traded at R$6.
