Dollar advances and ends again above R$6
After ending Wednesday (11) with a decline, the dollar ended the last session with an increase of 0.69%, quoted at R$ R$ 6.0091.
The American currency rose even after the Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) increased the Selic rate by 1 percentage point, to 12.25% per year, and indicated two adjustments of the same proportion for the next meetings.
The rise in the dollar is driven, once again, by investor concerns about the federal government’s fiscal package regarding spending cuts.
The commercial euro advanced 0.50%, and is quoted at R$6.2935.
