Small business confidence grows again in February

After 5 months of decline, the boldness of small companies within the economic system grew once more in February, based on a survey launched this Thursday (9) by the Brazilian Micro and Small Enterprise Help Service (Sebrae) and by the Getulio Vargas Basis ( FGV). All surveyed sectors – trade, commerce and providers – recorded enchancment in expectations.

In response to the Survey of Micro and Small Firms, the final confidence index of the businesses surveyed was 88.4 factors, with a rise of three.8 factors in comparison with January, when it was at 84.6 factors. Indicators above 100 factors present confidence and, beneath that stage, sign pessimism.

The principle issue that contributed to the development in expectations was the efficiency of the manufacturing trade. The indicator for the sector closed at 94 factors, up 4 factors. The meals and clothes segments elevated. Alternatively, confidence fell in refining and chemical merchandise, and metallurgy and steel merchandise.

In commerce, the boldness index of micro and small corporations elevated from 81.8 factors to 86.3 factors. The indicator for commerce is on the highest stage since final November. In response to Sebrae and the FGV, all commerce segments improved this month, particularly autos, bikes and elements (auto elements shops and small dealerships).

Relating to providers, the boldness index rose 1.2 factors, to 86 factors, interrupting a sequence of 5 months of decline. Of the 5 segments surveyed, 4 adopted the rise within the sector, with emphasis on data and communication providers. The one department of providers that went in opposition to the grain was transport, whose confidence fell for the sixth time in a row, with a drop of seven.4 factors.
