13th in advance: INSS pays 2nd installment for those who receive above the minimum
Payments for the 13th for those earning above the minimum started on Monday (3). For those earning a minimum wage, the 13th payment began on May 24th and also runs until June 7th.
This is the fifth year in a row that INSS policyholders receive advance installments, before the traditional dates, in August and December. The president of the Regional Economic Council of the 2nd Region (Corecon São Paulo), Pedro Afonso Gomes, advises that investing the money in an investment fund can be interesting to generate more income. The advance on the 13th can also be used to pay off possible debts.
“If, by chance, the retiree or pensioner has expenses planned for the months of November and December and can save that part of the 13th that he will receive now, the best thing is to invest it in an investment fund and, at the end of November and December , you will have the amount now received and some more income”, suggests Pedro Afonso Gomes.
But for those who have current debts, the best way, according to the expert, is to pay the debts. “It’s best to avoid higher interest being charged to your account in the following months,” he says.
