Agricultural machinery: sales grew 8.9% in April

This year, an 8.9% increase was recorded in the sale of agricultural machinery, from 3,867 units in March to 4,210 in April. However, between January and April this year, the sale of machines in Brazil recorded a decline of 11.6%, compared to the same period in 2023. The information was released by the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).

Meanwhile, sales of road machinery increased by 30.8%, from 2,289 units in April 2023, to 2,995 in the same month this year. In the first four months of 2024, the growth recorded was 12.8%.

During the press conference held by Anfavea, this Monday (20), the president of Anfavea, Carlos Alexandre de Oliveira, highlighted that the result shows the beginning of a recovery in the sector.

“There is greater confidence, in terms of our customers, regarding necessary works or investments, which are not made from one month to the next, but looking further ahead. There is also a movement of other characteristics in terms of this market, for example, use of higher rentals, use of smaller machines in segments where they were not used as much before”, he informs.

Rio Grande do Sul

In Rio Grande do Sul, sales of agricultural machinery stagnated due to the intense rains that hit the state between the end of April and the beginning of May. According to the association, some machine manufacturers are stopped due to direct problems with the rains, and others are having difficulty accessing suppliers affected by the floods.

“We are working with restrictions, the sector as a whole, where the most impacted suppliers are and how we can either act directly via the supplier, see what can be done to help, or even access alternative sources”, pointed out the president of Anfavea , Carlos Alexandre de Oliveira.

According to Anfavea, Rio Grande do Sul represents 7.5% of sales and production of agricultural machinery in Brazil. Additionally, 4% to 11% of machinery industry suppliers are located in the state.
