Business Confidence Rises in June

As a result, the index regains confidence from the high that started in 2023, but remains far from the level considered neutral, of 100 points. The result is due both to the improvement in the current perception of the economy, driven mainly by Current Demand, and to the improvement in expectations.

However, there is still great concern in the business environment on the six-month horizon. There is still room for better performance in components such as Forecast Demand and Forecast Employment for the coming months

According to specialists from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, the FGV, the result for June reveals that the worst moment for business confidence in 2023 has already happened and that now the projection is for a recovery.

The improvement in expectations is influenced by the approval of the new fiscal framework and by possible lower interest rates for the second half.

The Business Confidence Index includes the Industry, Services, Trade and Construction sectors.
