Caged registers the creation of 195.2 thousand jobs in March
After two months of decline, formal job creation rose in March. According to data released by the General Register of Employed and Unemployed People (Caged), of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, 195,171 jobs with a formal contract were opened in the last month. The indicator measures the difference between hiring and firing.

Job creation grew 97.6% more than in the same month last year. In March 2022, 98,786 jobs had been created, in the adjusted data, which consider declarations submitted late by employers. The monthly opening of vacancies reached the highest level since September last year.

In the first three months of the year, 526,173 vacancies were opened. This result is 15% lower than in the same period last year. The comparison considers data with adjustments, when the Ministry of Labor records declarations submitted late by employers and rectifies data from previous months. The change in the Caged methodology does not make it possible to compare with years prior to 2020.
