Codevasf launches Geoportal with information about watersheds

Through information, it is possible to obtain technical guidance on Codevasf’s actions to analyze the specific characteristics of each state and municipality and to identify development opportunities in the different areas in which the company operates. The information is available to other government bodies and society.

“The user of the Geoportal Codevasf will be able to access data about the reality of a certain municipality in relation to water security and sewage, for example. In the Statistical Data field, it is possible to access data and socioeconomic indicators of the 2,675 municipalities that are in the company’s area of ​​operation, such as Gross Domestic Product of Municipalities (GDP-M), Municipal Human Development Index (HDIM) and Gini coefficient , used to measure income concentration.

The composition of these social indicators is also detailed, which facilitates the understanding and use of the data”, informed Codevasf.

He added that other geoinformation functionalities are being developed, such as thematic observatories and geoservices. These functionalities will be aimed at implementing public policies for sustainable regional development, with a focus on reducing regional inequalities in the 15 states where the company operates and in the Federal District.

In the geoportal, the Master Plan for the Development of the São Francisco Valley (Planvasf), the Action Plan for the Integrated Development of the Parnaíba Basin (Planap), the plans for the springs of several hydrographic basins and the Notebooks of Characterization, which provide information on federation units inserted in new areas of Codevasf’s activity.
