Deadline to join the Zero Litigation program is extended until May 31
The deadline for joining the Tax Litigation Reduction Program (PRLF) or simply “Zero Litigation” has been extended to May 31 of this year. The decision was published in Joint Ordinance PGFN/RFB No. 3, in the Federal Official Gazette.

The program is an exceptional tax regularization measure, which provides for the possibility of debt renegotiation through the tax transaction for debts discussed with the Federal Revenue Judgment Offices and the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (Carf), in addition to those of small value. in administrative litigation or registered in overdue debt of the Union.

Accountant specializing in taxation and professor Edilson Barbosa explains the areas in which these disputes take place. “We have to understand that there are two environments: one environment called the Federal Revenue Service and another called the Attorney General’s Office of the National Treasury. How it works? The accountants do this, the entrepreneur looks for his accountant or a law firm specializing in judicial recovery, specializing in tax, credits, installments and repayments, and this accountant will analyze where the debt is ”, he explained.

Extension

The extension meets the demands sent by the Federal Accounting Council (CFC), the National Federation of Accounting Services Companies and Advice, Expertise, Information and Research Companies (Fenacon) and the Independent Audit Institute of Brazil (Ibracon), which requested the term extension.

For economist Guidi Nunes, assessing ongoing litigation today is a means of speeding up the recovery of resources by the government. The program is aimed at all audiences, both individuals and micro, small and large companies, from which, according to the specialist, most of the resources should come: “This recovery is because it is large companies that are concentrated in litigation, these problems, then the coordination that was at the Central Bank and now goes to the Ministry of Finance, so it meets to discuss the characteristics of this litigation, if the company that filed an appeal is right to not have to pay a certain tax obligation”, detailed.

The conditions for those who join the Zero Litigation program involve discounts between 40% and 50% on the amount of the debt (tax, interest and fine), in up to 12 months to pay. However, for companies that have fines greater than the amount of 60 minimum wages, the discount will be 100% on the amount of interest and fines. The deadline for settlement of pending issues with the government through the Zero Litigation program runs until May 31.
