DER offers a 40% discount for paying traffic fines in São Paulo
The entire DER fine management system was adjusted to facilitate user access, which required an investment of more than BRL 9 million, in addition to measures taken together with the Technology Company of the Government of the State of São Paulo (Prodesp) and the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro).
The superintendent of the Highway Department (DER-SP), Sérgio Codelo, explains that the entire DER fine management system was adequate to facilitate user access. “In order to have access to this benefit, the driver must waive the appeal request against the infraction committed on a state highway”, he explains.
According to the superintendent, the measure follows the guidelines of the government of the state of São Paulo for the digitization of processes, which will bring more agility to the demands of the population.
Step by step to get the benefit
On your cell phone, download the Carteira Digital de Trânsito App;
When opening the application, click on the option “Infractions” and then choose the search “By violator” or “By vehicle” assessed.
After completing the search, click on the option “Aderir ao SNE”;
Mark the infraction to get the 40% discount;
By opting for the discount, the user assumes responsibility for the infraction and waives the possibility of appeal.
Economist Carlos Eduardo Oliveira comments that the measure is a great facilitator for the government and population in general, as documents are stored electronically. “This then brings a benefit to the eventual payment, because you have a facility, where he can already generate the form of payment that he will make and the government, on the other hand, will have better control over who is paying or not. the fine, or who is in arrears”, he assesses.
The government of the state of São Paulo points out that the SNE has not released any discounts for shippers and cargo carriers.
