The US dollar showed a slight increase of 0.26% compared to the last close. The currency started this Wednesday (21) quoted at R$ 4.79 for buying and selling.

The slight increase stems from the wait for the release of the economy’s basic interest rate. The Copom is expected to maintain the rate at 13.75%. It is estimated that a reduction in the Selic will only occur in August 2023.

The euro follows the slight upward trend and started the day quoted at BRL 5.22 for buying and selling, according to data from the European Central Bank. The currency increased by 0.06%.

The Ibovespa, in turn, opened down 0.20%, but remains at the level of 119 thousand points. The index is at 119,622 points. The reduction is also related to the release of the Selic rate result. Vale shares fell 2.58% and helped pull the index down. Already the shares of Petrobras, which has great influence on the index, advanced 0.93%.
