Dollar today: currency opens on Thursday (6) at a high, quoted at R$ 4.85
O dollar americano started this Thursday (6) quoted at R$ 4.85 for purchase and sale. There was a rise in the currency compared to the last close, by 1%.

Latin American currencies should go through a test period against the dollar with the beginning of the fall in interest rates, which should occur in the second half.

Despite this, dollar projections for Brazil reach R$ 4.60 by the end of the year.

The period will be a resilience test for Latin currencies. Lower interest rates tend to favor the stock exchanges, but not necessarily the appreciation of the real against other currencies.

O euro also followed the increase and is quoted at BRL 5.27 for purchase and sale, 0.77% more than the previous day.

O Ibovespa opened at a high of 0.40% and remains close to 120 thousand points. The index is at 119,549 points.

This Thursday, the mood of the markets is more positive in view of greater acceptance of the tax reform and the public support of the governors for the proposal.

The index reached over 120,000 points the day before, but the release of the minutes of the Central Bank of the United States caused the Brazilian stock market to fall.

According to the minutes, there is no consensus on lower interest rates in June this year. This makes American bonds more attractive for investments compared to the Brazilian stock exchange. The stock exchange in Brazil opens the day with a trading volume of BRL 20.3 billion.

The stocks with the biggest gains were BRF (BRFS3), IRB (IRBR3) and MRV (MRVE3). The highs were 10.17%, 7.04% and 6.59%, respectively.
