Dollar today: currency opens Thursday (13) in decline, quoted at R$ 4.80
O dollar americano started this Thursday (13) quoted at R$ 4.80 for buying and selling. There was a drop of 1.82% in the foreign currency against the real since the last closing.

The appreciation of the real against the dollar occurs after the release of inflation data in the United States, which came in weaker than expected. With a lower expected inflation in the North American country, it is possible that there will be an end to the increase in interest rates in the country. This favors the Brazilian currency, since it also becomes attractive to invest in Brazil – a country where interest rates are comparatively higher.

The projection of the currency until the end of the year may be R$ 4.60, according to the market.

O euro also accompanied the downward movement, after six days of consecutive increases. The currency started the day quoted at R$5.34 for buying and selling. The value is 0.66% lower than the last close.

O Ibovespa opened on Thursday at a high of 0.094% and is now approaching a higher level. The Index is at 117,666 points.

The Brazilian stock exchange was also favored with the disclosure of a lower than expected inflation rate in the United States. It becomes more attractive for foreign investors to invest in the country, whether on the stock exchange or public debt securities.

The recent release of IPCA data – the main index that measures inflation in Brazil – also tends to favor the stock exchange in the long term. The data were for deflation, which more strongly signals the fall in the country’s interest rate, the Selic, increasing the attractiveness of the Brazilian stock exchange.

The total volume traded on B3 is BRL 55 billion.

The highlights are the increases in the shares of JBS (JBSS3), B3 (B3SA3) and Gerdau (GGBR4). The shares rose 9.05%, 2.30% and 2.09%, respectively.

The most traded shares on the stock exchange are Vale (VALE3), Petrobras (PETR4), JBS (JBSS3), Petrorio (PRIO3) and B3 (B3SA3).

The biggest casualties occur with the shares of Pão de Açúcar (PCAR3), Meliuz (CASH3) and Azul (AZUL PN). The losses were -5.82%, -4.42% and -4.28%, respectively.
