End of validity of MP 1163/2023 raises fuel prices in Brazil
A Provisional Measure 1163/2023, which reduces tax rates on fuel, expires this Thursday (29). The MP had been published by the Presidency in the Official Gazette of the Union in March of this year.

As so far there has been no extension of the measure by the government, fuel prices may increase. The information is from the National Federation of Trade in Fuels and Lubricants, Fecombustíveis.

According to the entity, the transfer must be R$ 0.33 per liter in the price of gasoline and R$ 0.22 in hydrous ethanol. The value of CNG should increase by 9.25%.

However, it is worth noting that there is autonomy for each establishment to define its pricing.
