Experts give tips on how to use Pis/Pasep wage bonus amounts

More than 4.4 million workers in the public and private sectors will receive amounts related to the salary bonus from Pis/Pasep as of this Monday (15). Beneficiaries will be entitled to amounts ranging from R$110 to R$1,320, due to the new minimum wage. Given this scenario, economist Newton Ferreira believes that this is an opportunity for these workers to pay off debts.

“Withdrawal of Pis/Pasep is only allowed for low-income people. So this is extra money for these people who, in general, have difficulty paying their expenses on a day-to-day basis. So the best way to utilize that would be the positive side of trying to pay off the debt if they have it. If you don’t have it, use it in order to save it so that on days when you have difficulty paying your expenses, you can use these resources”, recommends Ferreira.

Regarding the use of amounts to pay debts, economist César Bergo argues that this also requires planning. “There is a sequel. First, pay off any debts, make impulse spending and, if possible, reserve for those more difficult times so that you can spend at a more opportune moment, ”he points out.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the first people to receive the salary bonus will be those who were born between July and August and who worked in the private sector. Payment will be made by Caixa Econômica Federal.

In addition to these, public sector workers registered with a final digit of 4 or 5 will be entitled to Pasep, paid by Banco do Brasil. To find out if you are entitled to the benefit, consult the Digital Work Card website or the gov.br portal.
