Export culture policy wants to expand foreign trade
After the sanction of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, it was published this Tuesday (11), in the Official Diary of the Union the National Export Culture Policy. One of the objectives is to improve public policies aimed at foreign trade.

The document also establishes the National Committee for the Promotion of Export Culture, chaired by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), with representation from the Ministries of Agriculture and Livestock and Foreign Affairs, in addition to the Bras ServiceiSupport for Micro and Small Companies (Sebrae) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Each member also has an alternate to substitute in case of absence.

The committee will be responsible for drawing up an annual report on the implementation of the export culture policy, which must be forwarded to the President of the Republic by the second half of January of the following year. The group will also be responsible for monitoring the established measures.

Among the actions envisaged by the new policy are the training of companies interested in exporting, bringing export companies closer together and identifying opportunities to foster an export culture.

The actions will be aimed at all sectors of the economy and seek to support companies to enter and remain in foreign trade, especially micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Operations analysis

The publication of the measure comes together with a series of actions by the federal government to promote the sector. This Monday (10th), the MDIC announced – through the Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex) – the signing of a one-year contract with the Brazilian Agency for the Management of Guarantee Funds and Guarantees (ABGF), for the analysis of export, involving credit insurance trimmed by the Export Guarantee Fund (FGE).

The Vice President of the Republic and Minister of the MDIC, Geraldo Alckmin, celebrated on his social networks the fact that the government had managed to avoid the liquidation of ABGF, an attempt that had been unsuccessfully made in the previous government, through the signing of the contract. “An important step for us to promote exports, which generate quality jobs with increased income,” he said.
