God Bless Bitcoin: new documentary explains the possible impact of cryptocurrency on the global financial system
The idea for the film “God Bless Bitcoin” was born two years ago, motivated by the desire of an American couple, Brian and Kelly Estes, to show the world a fairer and more moral form of currency. Brian manages blockchain asset funds and teaches technology and investment courses at Cambridge, Washington and Morgan State University. Kelly is a teacher and founder of a non-profit organization that offers scholarships to high school and university students.
Together, they wrote, directed and produced the documentary, which talks about the rising cost of living and the loss of purchasing power, especially among the middle and lower classes. The “broken currency” mentioned in the documentary is the value of money, which is decreasing every day, as explained by the film’s spokesperson in Brazil, Fabiana Albuquerque. “Our money is worth much less today than it was 10 years ago. What we bought a while ago, we no longer buy today. We need to recover our purchasing power.”
Based on interviews with around 60 experts in politics, finance and economics, the production sheds light on the current global financial system, concentrated in the hands of governments and their central banks, which control currencies, interest rates and dictate the rules of the system. financial.
According to Fabiana Albuquerque, “God Bless Bitcoin” shows the currency from a new perspective, a “moral form” of money, and awakens in the viewer the desire to understand more about it.
“The film raises some very enlightening questions about the form of money, about governments, the current monetary system and where we are going in a new future, so that this new form of currency has more reach and that we have all the information about that”.
Bitcoin: a moral form of money
Without interference from banks or financial institutions, Bitcoin is an electronic currency that can be transferred from one person to another directly, without going through third parties such as banks. All bitcoin transactions take place over the Internet, using a secure security system known as blockchain, which guarantees the integrity of the system and transactions. Bitcoins can be transferred from one side of the planet to the other in a period of 10 minutes.
In the documentary, you can see how the authenticity and security of transactions are one of the assets for the spread of cryptocurrency around the world. But that’s not all. Without political bias, regardless of socioeconomic status, gender or race, Bitcoin is a more ethical form of money and open to everyone. And most importantly, it is autonomous, also free from political and government interference, explains the spokesperson.
“Bitcoin goes from point A to point B without interference. If I have 10 dollars and pass that money to you, the same 10 dollars will arrive in your hand. There is no devaluation of money”, explains Fabiana Albuquerque.
The film shows this and other characteristics of digital currency through the opinion of market experts. One of them, the author of the bestseller “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, the American Robert Kiyosaki, is one of the enthusiasts who show Bitcoin as a fairer, more equitable and peaceful alternative to the current financial system we use.
With more than 1.4 million views, the film “God Bless Bitcoin” explains in a didactic way how the currency works, why it is safe and capable of being free from state and political influences. To this end, directors Brian and Kelly Estes invited dozens of personalities linked to the market or not, such as the CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, David Bailey, the NBA basketball champion, John Salley, the host of the American reality show ‘Shark Tank’ , Mark Cuba, among others.
“God Bless Bitcoin” was released in the United States in July this year, but is available with Portuguese subtitles on YouTube. It can be downloaded or even watched online completely free of charge, through the platform or the website www.godblessbitcoin.com.
