Government of Bahia invests more than BRL 254 million to expand the maternal-infant network
According to the government of the state of Bahia, from 2010 until this year, more than R$ 254 million were invested in the reinforcement of assistance, which gained the increase of 5 new maternity hospitals, 2 Normal Birth Centers and 1 House for Pregnant Women. and postpartum women, in addition to a maternal and child hospital.
In addition, the network also included the expansion, renovation and modernization of existing units, qualifying assistance and increasing the supply of obstetrics beds, high-risk pregnancy, clinical pediatrics, pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU and normal delivery center.
Rebecca Paranaguá, a lawyer specialized in Health Law and partner at the Bento Muniz Advocacia office, explains that the investments made represent a significant strengthening of health care in the state of Bahia.
“Consequently, this will result in a greater supply of better quality services for pregnant women, for babies, consequently promoting better health and well-being conditions for these groups that need it so much”, he evaluates.
The lawyer points out that investments made by the state improve the quality and provide greater accessibility to health services, allowing more people to have access to quality services.
“Especially with regard to obstetrics, pediatrics, neonatal care. So this creation of specific units will undoubtedly meet the specific needs of this group in a very positive way”, he adds.
According to the government of Bahia, in state maternity hospitals inaugurated in recent years, women now have equipment such as a ball, stool, horse and support bar, methods that help relieve pain, reinforcing the relationship of respect and care that health professionals establish with patients.
