Ibovespa registers a drop of 1.55%, in the last closing
The Brazilian stock exchange index (Ibovespa) ended the last trading session down 1.55%, trading at 131,065 points. The result came amid a sharp rise in future interest rates.
In the accumulated total for the week, the Ibovespa recorded a decline of 2.83%. The financial volume of the index was R$25 billion. On the B3, it was R$33.4 billion.
Among the shares that contributed most to the result of the last session were Agrogalaxy, with a drop of 21.92%, and Recrusul, with a reduction of 16.98%.
Given this scenario, financial market analysts believe that the Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) will have to accelerate the pace of interest rate hikes at its meeting in November 2024.
