Learn how to calculate the popular car discount
Seven ranges of discounts were created, ranging from 1.6%, equivalent to R$ 2,000, to 11.6%, totaling R$ 8,000, according to energy efficiency criteria, which includes energy source and energy consumption; car price and production density, that is, the percentage of use of domestically produced parts.
Tracks are defined by the vehicle’s score when all criteria are added together. For example: a hybrid vehicle, one that uses fossil fuel and also electricity as an energy source, and that consumes less than 1.4 megajoules per kilometer (MJ/Km), adds up to 50 points in the energy efficiency factor.
If the price of that vehicle is BRL 120,000, the highest value for cars in the economy category for sponsored discount, another 15 points are added. And if its components are 75% produced in Brazil, another 25 points are added (according to table 1).
In this case, the ninety points added would classify the vehicle in the first range, which allows the biggest discount, of BRL 8 thousand (according to table 2). The vehicle, which would initially cost R$ 120,000, would now cost R$ 112,000.
