Modernization foresees reducing INSS sheet processing time
Dataprev wants to halve the time spent processing the payroll of pensioners and beneficiaries of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). According to the company’s management, the monthly process will be optimized thanks to the replacement of equipment and the modernization of systems.

Information relating to the 38.2 million INSS beneficiaries was transferred from the old computers where it was stored to new, safer and more efficient machines. This month, the payroll has already been processed with the help of new equipment that, according to the president of Dataprev, Rodrigo Assumpção, operate with more modern computer languages.

“This is very important. Mainly because it expands the possibilities, the technological, managerial and process choices that Dataprev is able to carry out on demand”, declared Assumpção this Wednesday morning (19), when talking to journalists about the deactivation of the old mainframe computers.

Time spent

Also according to Assumpção, the replacement of the old computers (which operated with the so-called technology on a high platform) by equipment that allows payroll processing on a low platform will allow Dataprev to reduce the time spent on the task from 96 hours to 48 hours.

“This will reduce payroll processing time, which gives more conditions (time) for the INSS to ensure that (future) sheets are correct”, added the president of the public data processing and digital solutions company, claiming that there is no way to measure the investment needed to replace computers as it is a project carried out little by little, over years, as part of a project to modernize social security systems.

“When I took over the (presidency of) the company for the first time, in 2009, there was already a Term of Adjustment of Conduct (TAC) forcing the company to eliminate a series of old systems that were no longer able to cope with the modernization process, data integration and the needs for technological advancement that the Brazilian State needs and demands”, recalled Assumpção.

Present at the press conference convened by Dataprev on the subject, the president of the INSS, Alessandro Stefanutto, highlighted that reducing the time spent processing the payroll of the institute’s beneficiaries will make “a lot of difference” for the institute’s employees.

“Every time technology can replace a server in a task, simplifying it, we impact the lives of Brazilians who are in the INSS queues. We were able to quickly decide on the simplest benefits, such as birth aid. Certainly, these new processes help to reduce the impact, either by saving resources or by (simplifying) other processes”, commented Stefanutto.
