New version of the Public Health Budget Information System (SIOPS) is now available
SIOPS is an electronic tool for monitoring and controlling public health financing and spending. Created by the Ministry of Health, the system aims to provide greater transparency and efficiency in the use of resources allocated to the sector.
Guidi Nunes, an economist, explains that the information added to the system is used to calculate and transfer federal funds to health, in addition to being important for monitoring and evaluating public health policies.
“SIOPS is mandatory for all municipalities, states and the Federal District and is used to record information on revenues and expenses incurred by federative entities, as well as on actions and health services provided to the population”, he highlights.
SIOPS is available for access by municipal managers, technicians, researchers and citizens interested in obtaining information about the administration of public resources in the area of health in Brazil.
How to send the data
- Access the SIOPS website and verify that you have the necessary access credentials to enter information into the system. If you do not have them, request them from the responsible body; Log in to the system;
- Choose the period and Union, state, Federal District or municipality;
- Fill in the requested data.
According to the folder, to download the structure file, you must use the Edge browser and look for the link on the Manager Module page. The new version of the software is available on the Downloads page.
It is recommended that the backup of files before starting the upgrade, so that no data is lost. The user must access System Unit C:/Program Files/SIOPS and make a copy of the XML folder in another location on the machine or on an external storage device.
The economist points out that filling in the information must be done by the 30th of each month and after sending the data, the Ministry of Health will analyze them and they will be available for public consultation on the SIOPS website.
Nunes highlights the importance of monitoring and controlling information by the population. “It is an extremely important role for everyday life, including for the population itself to guarantee its right to health”, he emphasizes.
