Official inflation measured by the IBGE was 0.04% in June
The IPCA-15, released by the IBGE this Tuesday (27), recorded a rise of 0.04% in June. The result is 0.47 percentage points below the May rate, which was 0.51%. This is the lowest value since September 2022. Of the nine groups of products and services surveyed, six were discharged this month.

The Housing group recorded the greatest variation and the greatest impact on the index for the month, up by 0.96%. In this group, the high water and sewage rates stand out, due to readjustments in Curitiba, São Paulo, Recife and Belém. There is also an increase in residential electricity, at 1.45%. On the other hand, there is a drop in piped gas, with a reduction of 0.33%.

In personal expenses, there is an increase of 0.52%, driven by gambling, cinema, theater, concerts and tourist packages. In the health and personal care group, there was an increase of 0.19%, driven mainly by health plans.

The three groups that recorded a fall and pulled the index down were Transport (-0.55%), Food and beverages (-0.51%) and Household items (-0.01%).

In Transport, the drop is motivated by the lower price of gasoline, diesel, ethanol and CNG. On the other hand, there was an increase in airline tickets. However, the increase was not enough to raise the prices of the category.

In the Food group, the drop in prices was driven by food at home. Soybean oil, fruits, long-life milk and meats fell. Due to the highs, there was an advance in the price of chicken eggs and French bread. Out-of-home eating also slowed down, both for snacks and meals.
