Paraná ranks six municipalities for the Smart Destinations Strategy
The Government of the state of Paraná says that six municipalities in Paraná are on the DTI Brasil National Strategy list, released by the Ministry of Tourism. The cities covered were Foz do Iguaçu, which leads with 95 points and Ponto Grossa, which is in third place with 82 points. The other cities contemplated were Londrina, Paranaguá, Pontal do Paraná and Campo Mourão.

For the economist Carlos Eduardo Oliveira Júnior, President of the Union of Economists of São Paulo. He claims that it is necessary to invest in tourism because it moves the country’s economy.

“Tourism is extremely important and essential for the country and the dimension like Brazil where we have all types of Tourism. Business tourism, pole tourism, winter tourism have to happen and that attracts a population to these regions that will benefit both from trade and services. The economic aspects are the generation of jobs and income for the population,” he points out.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, in March the selection notice for the National Strategy, Intelligent Tourist Destinations (DTI), was launched in Brazil. This initiative aims to improve the market competition of the contemplated destinations, which benefit from technology and innovation and which should attract more visitors to the entire region.
