In May 2023, the State of Paraná recorded the highest port movement in Paraná, with 6,125,887 tons of cargo handled. The operators of the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina achieved a positive volume by adding import and export products. In May 2021, it had the best monthly mark, which was 6,081,354 tons. This new record exceeds 0.73% of the last record, compared to the year 2022, in the same period with 5,268,293 tons, this general movement was reached now, in the month of May, which was 16%.

The director-president of Portos do Paraná, Luiz Fernando Garcia, emphasizes the importance of the movement of Paranaguá in the State of Paraná, which broke records in the month of May this year.

“This month of May we reached more than 6 million tons, approximately 6,200 million tons of products moved for export and import in the Ports, largely due to our efficiency, the Port efficiency of Paraná has been recognized by the market and the market has opted more and more in our offered conditions. In addition, of course, to a very good harvest, so the grain favors these numbers a lot, the product being sold at the time of Brazil’s position in the international market makes these exports high,” he points out.

The results achieved were mainly due to exports, which grew 29% in May, compared to the years 2022 and 2023. 4,176,175 tons were registered this year, compared to the previous year when it reached 3,242,924 tons in May.
