Payment of the 13th salary in city halls could generate R$ 29.75 billion, points out CNM
Survey released by National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM) reveals that, even in the face of reports of a lack of resources, Brazilian city halls have struggled to pay public servants their 13th salary. According to the entity, the financial impact of this benefit on municipalities could reach R$29.75 billion. In 98.3% of cities, which corresponds to 4,402 city halls that responded to the survey, the payroll is up to date in 97.3% of cases.

Still according to the studythe tendency is for the payment of the 13th salary to occur by December 20th. To date, 60.2% of the municipalities interviewed in the survey – that is, 2,691 – reported that they have already paid the first installment or the single installment. Another 1,644, a number that corresponds to 36.8% of the entities interviewed, stated that they will make the payment by December 20th. Only 58 cities reported that there will be a delay.

In relation to the 2,571 city halls that intend to pay the benefit in two stages, 94.2% say that the transfer will be made within the deadline, that is, by December 20th. The survey shows that only 63 municipalities will be delayed.

Still regarding the 13th salary, 94.1% of entities, that is, 4,210, consider that the resources from the additional 1% from the Municipal Participation Fund (FPM) should contribute to the payment of the benefit.
