Pork prices end 2nd consecutive month of increases

LOC.: Pig carcass price stable at the last close. A kilo of pork carcass is traded at R$10.45, for the fourth consecutive closing. The pig indicator registered stability in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná and Minas Gerais. In these states, prices are sold between R$6.50 and R$7.30.

For the second month in a row, prices are considered above average. The good performance of exports and high demand in the domestic market – especially in the first half of June – explain the rise in prices. Also, there is a reduced supply of animals at ideal weight for slaughter.

The price of fat cattle arroba started this week at a low in the state of São Paulo, at R$ 225.15.

Drop in prices for kilos of frozen and chilled chicken. They are being traded at R$7.05 and R$7.30 in the reference regions of Greater São Paulo, São José do Rio Preto and Descalvado.
