Procad/Suas: municipalities will receive a minimum amount of R$12 thousand to maintain social assistance programs
Cesar Lima, budget specialist, explains that Procad-Suas is the system that maintains, updates and monitors the federal government’s Single Registry.
“The system gives access to the benefits that the government pays both in the area of social assistance and now among them Bolsa Família, which is the biggest benefit paid today by the government in the area of social assistance. And now it has been decided that each municipality will receive a minimum of 12 thousand reais to maintain this system”, he highlights.
For Lima, the system prevents fraud in federal government benefits.
The specialist informs that, in addition to this amount, eligible municipalities can receive an additional fee for carrying out visits to people’s homes, in order to verify the information provided.

The CNM informs that for those municipalities that managed to reduce the number of single-person families in the federal government’s Single Registry for Social Programs by 15% — with per capita family income of up to half the minimum wage — between March and December 2023, the reference will be the balance in the account in December 2023.
