Revenue opens consultation for 3rd batch of income tax refund
As of 10 am this Monday (24), the third batch of 2023 Individual Income Tax refunds will be available for consultation. It also includes residual refunds from previous years.

The bank credit for 5,632,036 taxpayers will be carried out on July 31, in the total amount of RS 7.5 billion, with R$ 5,585,384,236.58 referring to the number of taxpayers who have priority.

There are 16,536 elderly taxpayers over 80 years old; 95,047 between 60 and 79 years old; 9,740 taxpayers with a physical or mental disability or serious illness; 30,700 whose main source of income is teaching; and, finally, 3,879,049 taxpayers without legal priority, but, because they used the Pre-Filled Declaration or chose to receive the refund via PIX, they received priority.

There were also 1,600,964 non-priority taxpayers who submitted the declaration by March 23 of this year.

How to consult

The query can be made on the Federal Revenue page at internet. The taxpayer simply clicks on My Income Tax and then on the Consult the Refund button. It is also possible to consult the Federal Revenue application for tablets and smartphones.

Payment will be made on July 31st, to the account or Pix key of the Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF) type informed in the income tax return. If the taxpayer is not on the list, he/she must enter the Virtual Taxpayer Service Center (e-CAC) and extract the statement. If there is a pending issue, you can send a rectifying statement and wait for the next batches of fine mesh.

Rescue

If, for some reason, the refund is not deposited in the account informed in the statement – as in the case of a deactivated account – the amounts will be available for redemption for up to one year at Banco do Brasil.

In this case, the citizen can schedule the credit in any bank account in his name, through the BB Portal or by calling the bank’s Relationship Center, on telephones 4004-0001 (capital cities), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special telephone number exclusively for the hearing impaired).

If the taxpayer does not redeem the amount of his refund after one year, he must request the amount on the e-CAC Portal. When entering the page, the citizen must access the Declarations and Demonstrations menu, click on My Income Tax and then in the Request refund not redeemed in the banking network field.
