Revenue opens consultation on second batch of IR refund
As of 10:00 am this Friday (23rd), about 5 million taxpayers who submitted the Individual Income Tax Declaration will settle accounts with the Lion. At that time, the Federal Revenue will release the second of the five batches of refunds for 2023. The batch also includes residual refunds from previous years.

In all, 5,138,476 taxpayers will receive R$7.5 billion. The entire amount, informed the Treasury, will go to taxpayers with priority in reimbursement.

Most – 3,490,513 taxpayers – informed the Pix key of the Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF) type in the Income Tax declaration or used the pre-filled declaration. New in the declaration from this year, the Pix key information gives priority to receipt.

The rest of the taxpayers are entitled to legal priority, with 130,088 senior citizens over 80 years of age; 978,397 between 60 and 79 years old; 70,589 taxpayers with some physical or mental disability or serious illness and 468,889 taxpayers whose main source of income is teaching.

The query can be made at IRS page on the Internet. The taxpayer simply clicks on “My Income Tax” and then on the button “Check the Refund”. It is also possible to consult the Federal Revenue application for tablets and smartphones.

Payment will be made on June 30, in the account or in the Pix key of the CPF type informed in the income tax declaration. If the taxpayer is not on the list, he must enter the Virtual Taxpayer Service Center (e-CAC) and extract the statement. If there is a pending issue, you can send a rectifying statement and wait for the next batches of fine mesh.

If, for some reason, the refund is not deposited in the account informed in the statement, as in the case of a deactivated account, the amounts will be available for redemption for up to one year at Banco do Brasil. In this case, the citizen will be able to schedule the credit in any bank account in his name, through the Portal BB or calling the bank’s Relationship Center, on telephones 4004-0001 (capital cities), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special telephone number exclusively for the hearing impaired).

If the taxpayer does not redeem the amount of his refund after one year, he must request the amount on the e-CAC Portal. Upon entering the page, the citizen must access the “Declarations and Statements” menu, click on “My Income Tax” and then in the field “Request refund not redeemed in the banking network”.
