Revenue website becomes unstable after large volume of queries
Faced with complaints from taxpayers on social networks, the Federal Revenue released a note in which it says it is monitoring the refund consultation system and that it will increase the network’s infrastructure.
“The Federal Revenue informs that it is monitoring the consultation system for refunding IRPF 2023 declarations. Due to the high number of consultations, outside the normal pattern, we are providing for an increase in infrastructure.”
The first batch includes 4.1 million taxpayers who are in the priority queue, such as seniors over 80, people with disabilities, teachers and those who made the pre-filled statement or chose to receive the refund through Pix. The amounts will be paid by Revenue on May 31.
To check whether the refund will be available, the taxpayer must access the Inland Revenue website and click on the items My Income Tax, then: Consult the Refund.
In the first batch, considered by the agency the largest in history, around R$ 7.5 billion will be distributed to taxpayers.
The delivery of the tax return started on March 15th and ends on May 31st, at 23:59.
