São Paulo: More than R$ 30 million will be allocated to credits from the Paulista Invoice in July
Since last Monday (17), taxpayers registered in the Nota Fiscal Paulista program have been receiving the amount related to purchases and donations of tax coupons made in March of this year. There are approximately R$ 14.7 million destined to individuals. The charitable entities that participate in the program will have a credit of R$ 17.2 million, resources that can be used for renovations, investments and other improvements in infrastructure and own programs.

In addition to these groups, condominiums will receive R$ 21,000, while Simples Nacional taxpayers will receive credits of R$ 484,900. In total, more than 13 million registered participants will be entitled to program credits.

For economist Guidi Nunes, the credit released to taxpayers is small, but it is a great opportunity to encourage consumers to issue invoices.

“It is interesting to encourage the consumer and the companies themselves to issue their respective invoices, which helps to increase tax collection in the state of São Paulo. Now, the value itself compared to GDP and the size of São Paulo’s economy is small. It has a small impact from the point of view of the state of São Paulo, but it is relevant from the point of view of encouraging the community to issue their respective invoices”, said the economist.

To transfer funds to a checking or savings account, simply use the official Nota Fiscal Paulista app on your tablet or smartphone. Then enter the CPF or CNPJ and the registered password and request the desired option. Those who prefer can use the website. In both options, the amounts will be credited to the account indicated within 20 days. Credits from Nota Fiscal Paulista remain available to consumers for one year from the date of release and can be used at any time within that period.

Legal note

The Nota Fiscal Paulista, created in October 2007, is part of the São Paulo State Government’s Fiscal Citizenship Program and reduces the individual tax burden of citizens, who receive credits when purchasing goods in São Paulo.

The system distributes up to 30% of the ICMS effectively collected by commercial establishments to consumers who request the tax document and inform CPF or CNPJ, proportional to the value of the invoice. Returns are made in monthly credits that can be monitored online and used to pay IPVA or redeemed in cash.

The consumer can also request the tax document without indicating the CPF/CNPJ and donate it to an entity of social assistance, health, education, defense and animal protection or culture registered in the Nota Fiscal Paulista program.
