Secretary of Finance of Rio Grande do Sul warns about payments with PIX

The Rio Grande do Sul Treasury Secretariat alerted the population about the care needed when making payments through PIX and reinforced that they should only be made through official state government channels.

The secretariat also claims that citizens should avoid searching the internet, as the action of scammers provides false links, which direct the taxpayer to generate fraudulent PIX codes, whose payment is reverted to individuals and not to official bodies.

According to the Cyber Security consultant at DARYUS Consultoria, Cristian Souza, to maintain security when accessing websites or even paying bills, it is necessary to pay attention to the website links, in addition to checking the company’s CNPJ to see if it is reliable.

“Always check if the site uses a secure protocol to transfer information. This can be verified by the presence of that famous green padlock in your browser, which indicates that the site transfers data in encrypted form”, explained the consultant.

In addition, citizens should avoid searching the internet, as scammers provide false links that direct the taxpayer to generate fraudulent PIX codes, whose payment is reverted to individuals and not to official bodies.
